| Another
interest we have is self-defense. Now don't get me wrong
I love guns and knives, but it is pretty hard to explain
why you have knife or gun in your hand while walking
the dog. The hardest part about self-defense is the
need to draw they gun or knife under combat stress.
With a stick you can have it in your hand.
I am not formally trained in Kali, I have just been
given the high points but others. I am trained in ASP
and have had many, many hours of additional training
from various sources.
I have used my ASP approx. 5-6 times with the intended
results. The last time being two years ago that left
me with a bent 26 inch ASP. All from leg strikes.
Some people kid themselves and say that if attacked
you will do whatever you have to and then run away.
That is BULLSHIT. Some scumbag just tried to jack you
and you thwarted it. He is now lying at your feet, at
your mercy. You are going to walk away...not. Would
you rather cut him again or hit him with a stick? Which
would you want to defend in court?
Imagine someone taking a stick and just smacking the
back of your hands or the ball of your ankle.
