Recently I met with Morgan Thomas President of Sharkee Training Knives in reference to a demonstration of Spontaneous Attack Survival at the Mid Atlantic Tactical Officers Association.

Morgan showed me his latest product, a polypropylene training knife made in the size and shape of the common folding knife. Morgan produced this after many requests from law enforcement clients.

What excited me about the new trainer was how closely it mimicked the size of one of the most common edged weapon I have encountered on the street, a steak knife.

As far as I know it is the smallest mass-produced training knife on the market. Even though I prefer the larger Sharkee trainers for basic instruction I look forward to using the smaller ones for force on force scenarios since they offer a much more realistic example of what students are likely to encounter on the streets.

Unlike so many training knives out there, Sharkee Training Knives are free of rough edged and are damn near indestructible. I could never see having to replace one unless you lost it or a buddy took it.
