Recently
I picked up another fine piece of leatherwork from my
friend Todd
Foster , this time is was one of his Coin Saps.
The concept is simple, take a leather pouch, fill it
with coins and swing. I am such a fan of centrifugal
force.
The first thing that struck me was the attention to
detail on the coin sap. Todd starts off with fine leather
and puts in together with perfect stitching.
I opted to fill my coin sap with dimes. I added a handful
at a time, swung it back and forth to seat them, and
then added more. As you can see it the picture I am
now up to 90 dimes. The more the sap breaks in the more
dimes can fit.
This of course will work as well as any traditional
sap and might be a little more explainable, but not
much.
Yesterday I spent about four hours driving with the
Coin Sap in my back pocket and could not even tell it
was there. This is just another must have piece of gear
from the Fosters.
